Grief Conversations: How Do I Handle Special Days?
Grief Conversations is a live 30 minute virtual session with counselor Amy Monzingo, MS, LMHP, LMHC. Amy will share expert, compassionate guidance as she addresses some issues you have experienced or are currently experiencing on your grief journey.
Grief is unique to each of us and can be very isolating. Grief Conversations will focus on the positive aspects of connection, healing, and coping mechanisms.
Our conversation this month: "How do I handle special days?"
Amy says the anticipation of certain days of the year tends to cause an increase in emotions after the death of a loved one. Some of those days include the obvious such as the anniversary of their death, birthday, wedding anniversary, and holidays. For some, it may be the opening day of baseball season, the first hunting weekend of the year, or that quilt show you always attended together. The thought of that special day without your loved one may seem undoable. Our conversation this month will focus on how, with a little planning, you can find a way to handle that day and even possibly get some enjoyment out of it.
