Amy Monzingo, MS, LMHP, LMHC, was always the person friends would come to when they needed a listening ear, so becoming a counselor was a natural step for her.
As a counselor with the Best Care Employee Assistance Program, her most rewarding moments are when a client expresses how much their life has been changed for the better or that they were able to get through a difficult life event because of counseling.
“Many times the answer is within the person, and they just need some help bringing it out or reframing it in order for it to make sense or to make changes,” Monzingo said.
Monzingo said that the most important parts of her relationship with each client are trust and being a good fit together. The more comfortable a client is with her, the easier those personal conversations will come.
